October 15, 2015

What’s it like to build a home with us? The custom home construction process is not as long as you might think. In fact, you’re less than one year away from your dream home. You can trust Estes Builders to keep you involved every step of the way. If you’ve ever wondered what building a custom home is really like, follow along with us through each step of the building process as we show you how close you are to getting the keys to your dream home.

Excavation

Once you’ve met with our in-house architect and finalized your design details, it’s time to break ground on your site. Still searching for land? It’s best to meet with Estes first for a free lot analysis. We can identify any issues with the lot that may increase the budget. If you already own land, we’ll help minimize potential challenges or expenses that could arise from building on your lot. Then get your shovels ready! During this stage, we’ll clear the area and also dig for your foundation. This is the stage when most homeowners feel like the ball is finally rolling. the stages of custom home construction

Foundation

Shortly after digging, it’s time to lay the foundation. Have you decided to include a basement in your dream home? We’ll start by laying that area first. This stage requires setting up formwork and then pouring the concrete. We’ll make sure you have a solid foundation so that your home is solid and durable for years to come. the stages of custom home construction

Framing

Finally, the abstract becomes tangible. When you stop by the home during this stage, you’ll see a full home frame including individual rooms. You may even be able to tour the home during this time to get a better feel for how you’ll live in this beautiful new home of yours. the stages of custom home construction

Windows

Get ready to let the light in and enjoy the view with high quality windows. We’ll install your new energy efficient windows shortly after framing. the stages of custom home construction

Roofing

During this stage, we’ll put a roof on your new home so that it’s dry and protected from the elements. If you’ve opted for a green roof, you’ll enjoy cooler ambient temperatures in the summer and maybe even lower energy bills as a result! the stages of custom home construction

Siding

We’ll wrap your home in flashspun high-density polyethylene fibers, an energy efficient water and air barrier that’s going to protect your home for years to come. Your home’s unique style and personality is now starting to shine through. the stages of custom home construction

Decking

Will you include a deck on your home? During this stage, we’ll add your decking. When you build with Estes, we work with you to position your home to maximize those spectacular Pacific Northwest views. Can you imagine what it’ll be like to grill off of your deck while witnessing the most beautiful sunset? From this stage you will be enjoying spectacular sunsets with friends before you know it. the stages of custom home construction
