Continual improvement is in our DNA.
As a third-generation builder, company founder Kevin Estes never had any doubt about his path in life. So when he moved to Sequim, Washington, to be near his parents, the first order of business was to build a spec house and put it up for sale. The next year he built and sold two homes.
Co-founder Jo Anne Estes made it possible to get Estes Builders off the ground, working a full-time job during those early years to ensure every dollar could be reinvested into the business. After joining the company officially a few years later, Jo Anne’s integral role over 30 years included leading the accounting team, managing human resources and payroll, and coordinating with clients and their lenders.
Our journey started in 1989 as a one-man operation. Today we have a team of 16, a stable of loyal subcontractors and a track record of more than 500 completed homes.
After thirty years of building in the area, founder Kevin Estes has learned a thing or two. And if you know him, you know he’s passionate about continual improvement, doing the right thing, and having a small team of the right people in the right roles. He also cares a lot. These aren’t just homes we build, these are people’s dreams and they’re putting their life’s savings into it. Thus, the core values you see on our walls and here on this page, aren’t just words. They’re words we live by and act on, daily. Get to know us and you’ll see for yourself.
We are a small team of hard-working and caring people. We live here and will be your neighbors. We take pride in our work and do the right thing. When we bump into our clients at the grocery store or out on the bike trail, we are greeted as friends and welcome the opportunity to catch-up and ask about life in their new home.
Besides helping people make their dreams a reality, our small team has earned some of the top awards available to home builders. Only a handful of elite home builders in the entire country have been recognized as America’s Best Builder, named a National Housing Quality Gold Award winner, and awarded Best in Class for Customer Satisfaction.
Sponsored by Builder Magazine, the America’s Best Builder Award is one of the most prestigious home builder awards in the industry. Award winners must demonstrate high levels of performance in all areas of operation.
“Most builders excel in just one discipline, be it customer service, great design, construction expertise, or financial acumen,” Denise Dersin, Editor-in-Chief of Builder Magazine, said. “But our America’s Best Builder winners manage to do it all. That is an amazing achievement.”
The National Housing Quality Gold Award is recognized as the most prestigious and difficult to attain award in the entire home building industry. Styled after the nationally recognized Malcolm Baldrige criteria for performance excellence, the National Housing Quality Gold Award is co-sponsored by the National Association of Home Builders and Professional Builder magazine.
Applicants are evaluated on numerous aspects of their home building operations, including construction quality, customer service and satisfaction, operational efficiency, and personnel and trade contractor relationships.
Avid Ratings, is the largest independent new home survey company in the country. This award is presented to builders with the highest scores in their region on the New Home Move In Experience survey, taken from purchasing experience to the first 90-days of ownership.
