Looking for some custom home design ideas to inspire your own vision for your dream home? We’re here to help.
The internet is filled with design ideas but who has time to scour website after website, trying to pull together a few good ideas? And then there is collecting, organizing, and prioritizing those ideas so that the whole process doesn’t feel completely overwhelming.
To save you some time we’ve gathered a couple of our favorite places online to gather and organize design ideas. A couple of these are tried and true methods of finding inspiration. But we’ve also included some creative and fun resources to help you find original ideas for your own dream home.
Still fun after all these years, Pinterest is a great place to find, collect, and organize custom home design ideas. We recommend creating a board for each room of your home to keep your ideas organized. Don’t forget to add a board for the exterior of your home (gotta have that curb appeal) and one for your outdoor spaces (decks, light fixtures, landscaping).
Organizing your boards will make it easy to review your ideas with our team during your Project Analysis.
Don’t have much time? On the popular website Houzz there’s no need to collect ideas by room – they’ve done all of that for you. They even include subcategories to save you time. For example, click on “Kitchen ideas” and you’ll see ideas for a modern kitchen, farmhouse kitchen, rustic kitchen and more. Simply find the ideas that you like and save them to an “Ideabook” (similar to Pinterest boards).
Like Pinterest, Instagram is a highly visual platform that is filled with an endless supply of stunning and inspirational photos (in fact, we like it a lot better). Find ideas for every room of your home by using hashtags. You can search hashtags (we’ve included a few below to get you started) and follow some of your favorites.
Here are a few hashtags to try:

Lonny.com Home Tours
You may not want to live like a movie star (who needs the paparazzi hassle?) but celebrity homes are chock-full of professional interior design ideas that are sure to inspire. Lonny is a home design website that features tours of homes owned by celebrities and regular everyday people, too. From a coastal California bungalow to a home in the Maine countryside to Meryl Streep’s Tribeca penthouse Lonny offers tons of fun ideas. A fair warning though: this website may be highly addictive.
Whether you have gathered all of your design ideas, have a simple sketch on the back of a napkin, or have no idea at all about what your vision is we are here to make it easy to make sense of the design build process.
