Farmhouse Features
Working with the existing landscape, the client was able to enjoy a stunning view while keeping foundation and site development costs manageable for their budget. By building within a confined flat area on a steep mountainside slope to maximize the view, we were able to retain as many trees as possible to create a cozy treehouse feeling.
As a modern farmhouse with external traditional northwest craftsman features, everything in the home was designed and tailored exclusively to the homeowner’s vision. Some of the home’s highlights include oil-rubbed bronze hardware and vessel sinks in the bathroom, built-in shelving and a custom mantle in the living room, and homeowner-chosen pendant lights over a large island in the kitchen. The beautiful bathrooms also feature acrylic surrounds, as well as built-in shelving and custom vanities and hardware.
Vaulted ceilings and a custom quarter-turn staircase make for a large, open, and airy living space with a beautiful view of the surrounding landscape and the Strait of Juan de Fuca. A deck off the living room expands the indoor/outdoor entertaining area to really make the natural beauty a highlighted feature.
