In this budget range, the possibilities are (almost) limitless so you can let your imagination run wild. In this post, we’ll look at some features that our customers have included in their home at a similar price point to help inspire your own ideas of what is possible. (Each post in this series is simply a guideline. You can always move more dollars around in your budget to make a certain item “fit,” but these examples assume no compromises need to be made.)
Kitchen
Customers in this price range typically opt for a true chef’s kitchen. This can include built-in appliances that are integrated into the custom cabinetry for a seamless look, multiple ovens or dishwashers for entertaining, and top of the line surfaces.Master Bathroom
Create a true spa experience with a custom walk-in shower (no glass enclosures to clean) that includes multiple fixtures and features (warning: you may never want to leave your shower). At $400 per square foot our customers often choose high end surfaces and that give the master bath a rich and elegant feel.Interior Finishes
One of the most in-demand features for our customers at this price point is a wall of windows that creates a dramatic backdrop of Pacific Northwest views. To add even more drama, customers have chosen to add exposed beams in the living area, a custom tongue in groove ceiling, a temperature-controlled wine storage room, and even an indoor pool.
Exterior Finishes
Customers with a budget of $400 per square foot or more have invested in some very creative design ideas that have included 4-car garages, detached garages and one customer even opted for an airplane hangar! Customers in this price range have also invested in multiple decks to maximize views, cable railing for a modern look, and custom exterior concrete. Other ideas include a detached mother-in-law suite.
